Information for Environmental Health Officers

Have you recently had, or are currently experiencing private shared sewer problems?  Would you welcome a FREE solution to entirely remove the administration burden on your team?

The protocol was created in 2006 by the Drainage Forum – an official body of British insurance companies who represent over 94% of UK insurers.  These insurers have agreed that the protocol is the best method of resolving shared drainage issues for all parties, and there are currently over 200 protocol projects running in England and Wales.  As proven through our work with a number of different Environmental Health departments, we believe that this Protocol could have a significant impact on the administration burden carried by your team in respect of these issues at no cost to yourselves.

The 'Protocol' initiative was created to cater for the increasing number of shared drainage claims, where four or more properties share the liability of the cost of repair to the private shared sewer.  It can and has been used as an alternative to serving a Section 59 notice on a set of residents and has been used and implemented successfully by a number of Councils throughout the UK.  We can get involved at any point in the process – before, during or after a notice has been served.

The burden is removed from the Environmental Health team as the single point of contact for the householders from instruction of project is UKDP.  We source the contractor, facilitate all administrative tasks and ensure all liability is accepted by each insurance company.  There is also an industry standard guarantee on all repairs completed.  If you would like further information, please get in touch for a free information pack.
