The Insurance Industry published a set of guidelines in June 2006 (please see below for full details) outlining the procedures for a unique scheme created for the project management of private shared sewer repairs entitled the 'Drainage Forum Protocol'.
The 'Protocol' initiative was created to cater for the increasing number of shared drainage claims, where four or more properties share the liability of the cost of repair to the private shared sewer. The cost of the repair of shared drainage systems is covered by each home’s buildings insurance policy, but the co-ordination of multiple policies to facilitate the repair can be incredibly complex and time consuming. UKDP remove the administrative burden from all parties involved, offering an end to end solution to the problem. We source the contractor, facilitate all administrative tasks and ensure all liability is accepted by each insurance company. There is also an insurance-backed guarantee on all repairs completed.
Established by James Warren, UKDP is a rapidly growing business set up to respond to this need. James started his career as a Claims Handler for one of the UK’s biggest insurers, before moving to a bespoke drainage assessor/contractor as Claims Manager. Future roles included Operations, Area Management and Protocol Management before identifying a need in the market to deliver specialised protocol solutions. With extensive first hand experience of the drainage and insurance industries, James leads a dedicated project team to ensure the smooth running of each repair process.
